Nasdaq, S&P 500 Hit All-Time Highs; Semiconductor Stocks Rally 4.23% on May 5

U.S. stock indices closed higher today, with the Nasdaq Composite rising 1.03% and the S&P 500 gaining 0.81%, both reaching all-time highs. The Dow Jones Industrial Average climbed 0.73%.

The Philadelphia Semiconductor Index surged 4.23%, led by storage-related stocks. Intel jumped over 12%, while SanDisk and Micron Technology each rose over 11%, all hitting new highs. Among mega-cap tech stocks, Apple gained 2.66%, Amazon climbed 0.55%, and Google-A shares advanced 1.35%. Nvidia declined 1%, Microsoft fell 0.54%, Meta Platforms dropped 0.89%, Tesla slipped 0.8%, and Netflix lost 3.43%.
