According to Ecuador's National Customs Service, on May 31, the country announced the elimination of a security tax on goods originating from or imported from Colombia, effective June 1. The tax rate for such imports will be reduced to zero, announced Sandro Castillo, chief of Ecuador's National Customs Service, on social media.
The measure, ordered by President Daniel Noboa, aims to promote legitimate trade, regional integration, and bilateral cooperation in combating illegal economic activities between the two nations.
