According to the Wall Street Journal, the European Commission issued preliminary findings on July 10 that Meta violated the EU Digital Services Act by deploying addictive features on Instagram and Facebook without adequately assessing or mitigating associated health risks. If confirmed, Meta could face fines of up to 6% of its annual global revenue for each platform, along with other regulatory measures.
