Foreign Investors Hit Lowest Samsung Electronics Holdings Since 2009; Retail Credit Trading Hits Record High

According to the Korean Exchange, as of July 6, foreign investors' holdings of Samsung Electronics shares declined to the lowest level since the global financial crisis in 2009, after sustained selling pressure on semiconductor stocks. Contrasting this trend, retail investors have increased leveraged buying (credit trading) in semiconductor shares, with credit balance reaching record levels in July.
