Foundry Asks Miners to Vote on BIP-110 Soft Fork via Hashrate

BTC0.07%

On Friday, Foundry Digital, the world's largest Bitcoin mining pool operator, announced it will allow miners to vote on whether the pool should signal support for BIP-110 soft fork. Miners can vote using their hashrate, with voting weight based on average hashrate between July 6 and July 15. The signaling window is expected to run through early August at block 961,632.

Foundry's initial position is against the proposal and will signal "No" unless "Yes" votes reach 51% of voting hashrate. The pool controls approximately one-third of network hashrate, making its stance significant for BIP-110's activation prospects. Individual votes remain confidential, though aggregate results may be disclosed.
