According to on-chain analyst b-block, scammers stole over $400,000 through fraudulent Google advertisements impersonating the Uniswap protocol on May 25-26. Attackers created counterfeit websites that drained cryptocurrency wallets after users connected them via malicious Google search results, holding approximately 146 ETH across multiple wallet addresses. Researcher Stacy Muur noted that attackers exploited paid advertising systems to surface fake versions of legitimate DeFi platforms, with users redirected to cloned interfaces through sponsored search results.
