Gate News message, April 19 — According to Alex Thorn, Galaxy Digital’s research chief, the U.S. Treasury Department’s Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) sanctions list (SDN list) has historically involved 518 Bitcoin addresses, which collectively received 249,814 BTC and sent 239,708 BTC, currently holding approximately 9,306 BTC net.

Based on current market prices, the net holdings are valued at approximately $707 million. Thorn noted that OFAC sanctions represent only one tool the U.S. employs to intercept illegal assets, with the proposed CLARITY Act set to further expand the Treasury Department’s regulatory authority.

The data underscores the ongoing intersection of cryptocurrency markets and government financial enforcement mechanisms.
