According to Cointelegraph, on July 27, Garden Finance, a cross-chain bridge and atomic swap protocol, detected anomalous activity and temporarily shut down its application. Blockchain security firm Blockaid revealed that attackers exploited a hash time-locked contract (HTLC) vulnerability in Garden Finance to steal approximately $450,000 in USDT across Ethereum, Base, Arbitrum, and BNB Smart Chain.

The incident marks another significant breach in the cross-chain bridge sector, where HTLC vulnerabilities have been a recurring attack vector.
