According to Investing.com, on July 22, Gene Munster, managing partner at Deepwater Asset Management, raised his assessment of a potential SpaceX-Tesla merger from 80% to 90% following Tesla's Q2 earnings call. Munster noted on X that Elon Musk's emphasis on synergies between the two companies surprised him, as merger discussions were mentioned seriously during the call.
Musk acknowledged in the earnings call that business overlap between SpaceX and Tesla is growing, particularly related to Terafab. The companies currently collaborate on battery energy storage systems and AI infrastructure, with Tesla integrating Musk's Grok AI assistant into its vehicles.
