Germany Resumes Push to Buy Tomahawk Missiles After U.S. Deployment Plan Canceled

GateNews

According to Financial Times, Germany is resuming efforts to purchase Tomahawk cruise missiles and Typhon ground-launched systems from the U.S. on May 10, after the Pentagon canceled a plan to deploy a U.S. military unit equipped with the weapons to Europe.

Germany’s Defense Minister plans to visit Washington to advance the procurement proposal, which was first submitted in July last year but has yet to receive a U.S. response. The visit’s success depends on arranging a meeting with the U.S. Defense Secretary, which remains uncertain given tensions between Trump and German Chancellor Scholz.
