According to Gibraltar's Ministry for Justice, Trade and Industry, on July 13, the territory launched the Prediction Market Regulations 2026, establishing the world's first dedicated regulatory framework for prediction-market operators. All event contracts require approval from the Gambling Authority and must be clear, objectively settleable, and resistant to manipulation.
Two operators will operate under the new regime: ADI Predictstreet, the official prediction-market partner of the FIFA World Cup 2026, and Wire Markets, the platform of California-based WagerWire, which targets a launch in August. "This is a landmark moment for the prediction-market industry," WagerWire co-founder Travis Geiger said, adding that the framework "gives operators the clarity they need to build for the long term."
