Hanjin's BBB+ Bond Issuance Sees Partial Failure with 1B Won Unsold; BBB-Rated Issuance Plunges 61% YoY

According to E Daily Market In on July 20, Hanjin (BBB+) received 44 billion won in orders during institutional roadshow for a 40 billion won bond issuance, but failed to fully allocate 1-year maturity notes, leaving 1 billion won unsold. The failure highlights deteriorating demand for BBB-rated corporate bonds following credit events at JR Global REIT and Junggang Group. BBB+ bond issuances collapsed 61% to 26 billion won in H1 2026 from 66.5 billion won in H1 2025, while redemptions rose to 56 billion won, shifting the market from net issuance to net repayment.
