Hantavirus Outbreak on MV Hondius Cruise Ship Claims 3 Lives, 5 Suspected on May 5

According to the World Health Organization, a suspected hantavirus outbreak aboard the MV Hondius cruise ship has killed three people and left five others suspected of infection as of May 5, 2026. The vessel, carrying 149 passengers from Argentina to Cabo Verde, has implemented strict quarantine measures including cabin isolation and medical monitoring.
