HCLTech to Invest $366 Million in AI Data Centers on July 13

According to The Economic Times, HCLTech announced on July 13 an investment of up to 35 billion rupees ($366 million) to establish AI data centers through new subsidiaries, with potential to scale to 50 MW of capacity. The investment is part of the India-based IT services company's plan to enter the full-stack AI market. The new units will support AI data centers alongside HCLTech's existing capabilities in data center design, DevOps, AI cloud operations, and managed services. CEO C Vijayakumar stated the move aims to address rising AI demand, supply constraints, and demand for digital sovereignty. Separately, HCLTech reported a more than 20% year-on-year increase in consolidated net profit for the June quarter to 46.2 billion rupees ($484 million).
