According to Nous Research, Hermes Agent topped OpenRouter’s global application token usage ranking today with 271 billion tokens, surpassing OpenClaw which ranked second with 245 billion tokens. Kilo Code (149 billion) and Claude Code (79 billion) followed in third and fourth place.
The top four positions were dominated by agent and CLI programming tools, reflecting strong developer demand for code automation and AI agent tools. Descript, an audio-video editing tool, ranked fifth with 48.9 billion tokens.
