Homeplus Secures 200 Billion Won Emergency Funding; MBK Chairman Pledges Full Guarantee

According to the Homeplus labor union on July 16, MBK Partners chairman Kim Byung-joo has pledged a full joint guarantee, enabling Mirae Asset Financial Group to provide 200 billion won in emergency operating capital (DIP) to Homeplus. The union welcomed the decision as a critical lifeline for the company facing restructuring proceedings. Under an agreement reached on July 15, Kim and MBK will guarantee the entire 200 billion won loan, aimed at minimizing losses for stakeholders including employees, suppliers, and tenants.
