HSBC Completes First Blockchain-Based Structured Product Issuance on July 10

According to HSBC, the bank completed its first blockchain-based issuance of digitally native structured product through a private placement in Hong Kong on July 10. The U.S. dollar-denominated structured notes were issued with support from Marketnode, which acted as the tokenization agent and digital paying agent. The pilot tested whether tokenization can streamline issuance, settlement, administration, and servicing of structured products for institutional markets.
