According to Shenzhen government, on June 5, a research team including Huawei Technologies completed full-parameter post-training for DeepSeek-V4-Pro using the company's Ascend 910C chips. The project ran DeepSeek's largest model to date with 1.6 trillion parameters on a cluster powered by over 1,000 Huawei chips. The team comprised Huawei, Shenzhen Loop Area Institute, Harbin Institute of Technology's Shenzhen campus, and Shenzhen Research Institute of Big Data. This marks a step in China's efforts to advance from AI inference to model training using domestic hardware under U.S. export restrictions.
