ICE and Ornn Plan GPU Compute Futures Tied to Spot Pricing

Intercontinental Exchange and Ornn announced plans to launch GPU compute futures contracts tied to spot pricing for AI infrastructure, referencing Ornn's Compute Price Index, which tracks live transaction prices across Nvidia H100, H200, B200, and RTX 5090 systems. The contracts will be U.S. dollar denominated and cash settled, subject to regulatory approval. Trabue Bland, Senior Vice President of Futures Markets at ICE, stated that compute pricing requires a globally accepted mechanism and risk management tool as AI rapidly expands as a driver of the global economy.
