Indonesia Exempts Nickel Pig Iron and Refined Palm Oil from Export Controls Starting June 1

GateNews
According to government officials, Indonesia exempts nickel pig iron and certain refined palm oil products from planned commodity export controls, with the transition phase beginning June 1. The exemptions apply to low-purity nickel pig iron and refined, bleached, deodorized palm oil, while other commodities including coal and iron alloys must be channeled through state-owned enterprises. Last year, Indonesia exported 24 million metric tons of crude and refined palm oil products worth $24.4 billion; controlled products under the new framework cover approximately 90% of total palm oil exports.
