Iran and Oman Hold Talks on Strait of Hormuz Shipping on May 24

According to state broadcaster CCTV News, on May 24, Iran's Deputy Foreign Minister Gharibabadi met with Oman's Foreign Minister Badr in Muscat. During the talks, Gharibabadi delivered a message from Iran's Foreign Minister Araghchi, addressing ongoing Iran-U.S. negotiations being mediated by Pakistan. Both countries emphasized the importance of restoring freedom of navigation in the Strait of Hormuz in a secure and sustainable manner. The two delegations also discussed principles for maintaining maritime freedom in the Strait under international law and exchanged views on safeguarding shipping, trade, and supply chain security.
