Iranian Diplomat Warns of U.S. 'Piracy' in Strait of Hormuz on May 9

According to Iran’s student news agency on May 9, an Iranian Foreign Ministry official stated that Iran’s current priorities are ending the war and restoring normal navigation through the Strait of Hormuz, while warning against U.S. “piracy-style actions” in the region. The official said Iran has responded to a series of U.S. “provocations” in the strait and emphasized that the U.S. should not conduct military operations against Iran or other regional countries using the waterway.
