Iran's Military Operation in Isfahan Fails, Key Factor in Enemy's Ceasefire Decision: Commander

Gate News message, April 18 — Iran's Army Commander Ali Jahan Shahi stated on April 18 that the enemy's failed military operation in southern Isfahan was a significant reason for their decision to accept a ceasefire, according to Iran's Islamic Republic Broadcasting. Jahan Shahi noted that Iranian military forces had completed all necessary assessments and reinforced their deployments before the enemy's operation commenced.

According to Iran's Armed Forces Hatam-Al-Anbiya Central Headquarters spokesman, the U.S. military attempted to conduct operations in southern Isfahan to rescue a downed fighter pilot. However, due to timely intervention by Iranian forces, the operation ended in "complete failure." The U.S. operation resulted in the downing of two Black Hawk helicopters and two C-130 transport aircraft.

Commander Jahan Shahi emphasized that the enemy should abandon any thoughts of launching ground attacks on Iran's borders.
