Iran's Revolutionary Guard Bans Military Vessels from Hormuz Strait, Releases New Shipping Rules

Gate News message, April 17 — Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) Navy Command released new regulations for vessel passage through the Strait of Hormuz on the evening of April 17. According to the new rules, civilian vessels are permitted to transit only through designated Iranian shipping lanes, while military vessels remain prohibited from passage. All vessels must obtain authorization from the IRGC Navy before transit.

The new regulations are aligned with the implementation of the temporary ceasefire agreement between the U.S., Israel, and Iran, as well as the ceasefire agreement between Lebanon and Israel.
