According to state broadcaster CCTV, Deputy Commander of Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps Navy Mohammad Akbarzadeh stated on the evening of May 26 that the United States is in a "position of request" when negotiating an agreement with Iran. Akbarzadeh noted that U.S. and European economies are highly dependent on energy prices and vulnerable to regional developments, giving Iran leverage in talks.
