Iran's World Cup Team Required to Enter and Exit U.S. on Match Days

According to Iran's Ambassador to Mexico Pasandi on June 7, Iran's national football team was informed that it must enter and exit U.S. territory on the day of each World Cup match. The ambassador explained the visa restriction, stating: "We can enter in the morning, but we must leave the same day." Iran is currently based in Mexico rather than the originally planned location of Tucson, Arizona, due to tensions between the U.S. and Israel. The Iranian team will play three group stage matches in Los Angeles and Seattle.
