Ireland Imposes Travel Bans on Israeli Ministers Ben-Gvir and Smotrich on June 5

According to Irish media, on June 5, Ireland's Justice Minister Jim O'Callaghan imposed travel bans on Israeli National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir and Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich. Irish Prime Minister Michéal Martin confirmed the decision at an EU-Western Balkans summit, stating that the two ministers' actions reflect intent to remove Palestinians from Palestinian territories.

The government reached consensus on the ban earlier this week without requiring cabinet approval, and immigration officials will deny the two ministers entry to Ireland. The ban was linked to their roles in the ongoing humanitarian crisis in Gaza.
