GateNews

According to a joint statement from Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu and Defense Minister Katz on May 26 evening, the Israel Defense Forces conducted a strike against Hamas military commander Muhammad Odeh in Gaza. Odeh recently assumed the role after replacing Izz al-Din al-Qassam, who was assassinated by Israeli forces.

Israeli officials identified Odeh as one of the planners of Hamas's October 7, 2023 attack on Israel, during which he served as head of Hamas's intelligence division.
