Italy's Largest Bank Doubles Crypto Holdings to $235M in Q1 2026

According to 13F-derived data, Intesa Sanpaolo, Italy’s biggest bank, more than doubled its crypto-linked portfolio to approximately US$235 million in the first quarter of 2026, up from roughly US$100 million at the end of 2025. The bank’s holdings included US$95.9 million in iShares Bitcoin Trust call options and US$81.2 million in ARK 21Shares Bitcoin ETF shares, with additional exposure to Ethereum and XRP through listed trust products.
