Japanese Toilet, Textile and Seasoning Makers Gain Up to 78% This Year on AI Chip Supply Demand

According to Bloomberg, Toto, Nittobo and Ajinomoto—companies known for toilets, textiles and seasoning respectively—have seen share prices gain 78%, 63% and 61% this year, rising as they supply critical materials to semiconductor manufacturers benefiting from the AI boom.

Toto's advanced ceramics business, which makes electrostatic chucks for chip manufacturing equipment, posted 34% revenue growth and 42% operating profit growth for the financial year ended March 31. Nittobo's electronic materials segment, producing glass fiber for semiconductor package substrates, saw 20.4% sales growth and 39.7% profit growth. Ajinomoto's healthcare and other segment, which includes ABF insulation film used in semiconductor packaging, reported 45.1% profit growth year-on-year.
