According to Jin10 data on May 15, Japan’s leading tomato sauce producer Kagome will switch its product packaging from white to transparent starting late May due to printing ink shortages caused by Middle East tensions. The company, which has maintained the same white packaging design featuring extensive tomato illustrations for over 40 years, will significantly reduce the printed tomato graphics on the new transparent packaging. Kagome cited continued ink supply constraints and inability to find alternative solutions for the change.
