According to reports, Justin Sun purchased $75 million worth of World Liberty Financial's $WLFI governance token shortly after Donald Trump's election, marking a significant capital injection into the Trump family's crypto venture.
World Liberty Financial, launched in September 2024 and managed by Trump's sons Donald Jr., Eric, and Barron alongside Zach Witkoff, generated $550 million in token sales with 75% of profits directed to the Trump family trust. The partnership deteriorated into legal conflict when Sun's digital assets were frozen by the platform. Sun filed suit against World Liberty Financial over the asset freeze, while the platform countersued, accusing him of defamation.
