According to ChainCatcher citing DefiLlama data, Kalshi's June trading volume reached $9.4 billion, marking a historic record and up 77% from May's $5.3 billion. The 2026 FIFA World Cup, which opened on June 11 with an expanded 48-team format, was the primary driver, as reported by CNBC.

Polymarket International's June volume also rose to approximately $4.3 billion from $3.5 billion in May. The knockout stage saw particularly active trading, with Canada vs. Morocco's round-of-16 match generating over $48 million in trading volume on Kalshi and over $26.8 million on Polymarket.
