According to Kalshi research published on July 24, 2026, the prediction market platform released a World Cup case study demonstrating that brands and hospitality venues are using event-based contracts to hedge sports-related financial risks more cost-effectively than traditional insurance. The 2026 FIFA World Cup generated a $40.9 billion GDP impact across the United States, Canada, and Mexico, with Kalshi facilitating over $27 billion in transaction volume across World Cup markets. Real-world adoption included sportswear brand Forme, watchmaker AxiaTime, and hospitality venues across Washington D.C., Chicago, and San Francisco using Kalshi to offset promotional liabilities. Across more than 32,997 World Cup markets, Kalshi achieved 85.7% accuracy one day prior to events, with a calibration error of just 1.96%, correctly pricing the tournament winner and all four semi-finalists.
