According to Cryptopolitan, Kenya's 2026 fiscal bill proposes imposing a 10% consumption tax on virtual asset service providers on May 26, double the rate applied to the gambling industry. Crypto companies operating in Kenya would be required to pay a one-time licensing fee of 150 million Kenyan shillings and an annual renewal fee of 2 million shillings, and must submit annual reports to the Kenya Revenue Authority containing user and transaction details.
