Kia Plans to Deploy Boston Dynamics Atlas Robots at Georgia Factory in 2029

According to CEO Song Ho-sung, Kia plans to deploy Boston Dynamics’ Atlas humanoid robots at its Georgia factory in 2029. The rollout will follow Hyundai Motor Group’s planned deployment at its U.S. Metaplant in 2028. Song said Kia will expand the deployment across its U.S. plants over one to two years, initially using the robots for physically demanding tasks while collecting operational data and improving safety. The company may later introduce Atlas at overseas factories with similar layouts.
