According to Yonhap Infomax, Korean Air posted second-quarter operating revenue of 50.199 trillion won, up 25.9% year-over-year, marking a record for the airline.
Cargo revenue climbed 1.542 trillion won, surging 46.1% from a year earlier, driven by global artificial intelligence investment demand and semiconductor chip cycles. The airline optimized belly cargo space and concentrated cargo-only aircraft on high-yield routes, pushing per-unit rates up 34% to 703 won from 525 won in Q1. Passenger revenue grew 18.8% to 2.848 trillion won as Korean Air absorbed transit demand displaced by Middle East tensions and expanded Far East connections amid China-Japan route reductions.
