Korean Benchmark Index Enters Bear Market as AI Trading Shifts to Liquidation on Wednesday

According to Tickmill analyst Patrick Munnelly, AI trading in parts of Asia shifted from leading positions to liquidation on Wednesday (July 8). South Korea's KOSPI benchmark index extended its decline and entered bear market territory, as investors continued selling crowded semiconductor positions following a historic rally. Munnelly noted that while investors attempted to distinguish broader AI narratives from semiconductor liquidation, this differentiation may become increasingly difficult in the near term.
