According to local authorities, a landslide at an illegal gold mine in Bengo Province in northwestern Angola killed at least 28 people on May 25. The provincial civil protection and fire department confirmed that four people were rescued from the site.

Search and rescue operations have concluded, according to the department's statement released on Sunday.
