According to Lebanon's National News Agency, Lebanese Prime Minister Najib Mikati delivered a televised address on May 30 accusing Israel of a "dangerous and unprecedented" escalation of military operations in southern Lebanon. Mikati stated that Israel's actions have shifted beyond targeting specific objectives to completely destroying towns, villages, and civilian infrastructure, displacing large populations. He characterized this as "collective punishment" against innocent civilians and described it as a "scorched earth policy" that aims to erase Lebanese history, though he asserted such tactics cannot provide Israel security.
