According to Mastercard's statement on June 3, the global payments company added USDC, PYUSD (PayPal USD), and RLUSD (Ripple USD) to its payment settlement network. Card issuers and acquirers can now settle transaction amounts in stablecoins as an alternative to traditional bank accounts.

Mastercard also expanded settlement capabilities to include weekends, holidays, and intraday settlement. Previously, card payment settlement occurred during banking business hours; the new feature enables 24-hour settlement operations.
