According to Business Insider, investor Michael Burry, known for the film "The Big Short," compared Disney and Netflix's content on July 20, saying Disney produces "wine" while Netflix makes "milk." In a Substack post, Burry noted that Disney's intellectual properties like Star Wars, Avengers, Toy Story, and Moana are "evergreen" content consumed across generations, whereas Netflix's Stranger Things, Squid Game, and K-pop Demon Hunters lack similar longevity. Burry highlighted that Disney monetizes its IP across movies, theme parks, resorts, merchandise, and games, while Netflix focuses primarily on streaming content.
