Microsoft's Largest Hyderabad Data Center Set to Open Mid-2026, With $17.5B India Investment

According to Reuters, Microsoft's largest data center in Hyderabad, India, is on track to open by mid-2026 as the company expands cloud and AI capacity in a key growth market. The tech giant committed to investing $17.5 billion in India in late 2025, its biggest outlay in Asia, following a $3 billion pledge at the start of 2025.

Demand for Azure and the $30-per-month Microsoft 365 Copilot is rising in the region. Infosys, Cognizant, and Tata Consultancy Services each have adopted approximately 50,000 Copilot licenses, according to Puneet Chandok, Microsoft India & South Asia president. The company employs more than 22,000 people in India.
