Missouri Sues CoinFlip, Seeks $1.826M Penalty Over Crypto ATM Scams

According to Missouri Attorney General Catherine Hanaway's office, Missouri authorities filed a lawsuit against CoinFlip operator GPD Holdings recently, accusing the company of knowingly enabling fraudulent transactions through its crypto ATMs. Authorities are seeking civil penalties of up to $1.826 million and restitution for consumers who lost money through fraud over the past five years.

CoinFlip operates 136 cryptocurrency kiosks in Missouri and more than 4,200 nationwide. The lawsuit is part of a broader regulatory crackdown on crypto ATM operators due to rising scam complaints.
