Mitsubishi Motors Signs MOU on Humanoid Robot Development With Japanese Startup

According to Bernstein analysts, on July 10, Japanese automakers' interest in humanoid robots is resurfacing. Mitsubishi Motors signed a memorandum of understanding with a Japanese startup to jointly develop and mass-produce humanoid robots. Bernstein forecasts global humanoid robot shipments could reach 49 million units by 2050, expanding the market to approximately $729 billion, with overlapping core technologies like actuators, sensors, batteries and AI software making the sector attractive to automakers leveraging existing vehicle expertise.
