Morgan Stanley Forecasts Global CoWoS Demand to Hit 2.694M Units in 2027, Up 93%; AMD CPUs Enter Advanced Packaging

According to Morgan Stanley's July 8 AI supply chain report, global CoWoS demand is expected to reach 2.694 million units in 2027, up 93% from 2026, with Nvidia remaining the largest customer at 1.222 million units (45% share) and AMD demand surging 308% to 530,000 units.

For the first time, AMD's Venice CPUs will adopt CoWoS packaging, with 6.75 million units projected to ship in 2027, marking CoWoS's expansion from AI accelerators to server CPUs at scale.
