According to media reports, multiple U.S. asset managers including Direxion and Proshares launched 2x leveraged and inverse ETFs tracking SK Hynix American Depositary Receipts (ADRs) starting July 14. The products generated over $3 billion in cumulative trading volume within the first four days, with approximately 150 million shares traded across multiple tickers including SKUU, SKDD, SKHU, and SKHL.
From July 29 onward, SK Hynix ADRs will become interchangeable with the company's underlying South Korean shares, creating a potential linkage between U.S. leverage product volatility and domestic Korean market movements. Unlike U.S. markets, South Korean stock exchanges impose price movement limits (±30% for individual stocks, ±60% for leveraged products), raising concerns about amplified volatility transmitted to Seoul-listed SK Hynix shares.
