According to Bloomberg, on June 3, a shell company linked to Elon Musk purchased over 6,000 acres of land in rural areas outside Houston, indicating it is finalizing a location for Terafab, a planned $55 billion chip factory. The company, WIT Tech LLC, has acquired at least six parcels in Grimes County, with transaction details not yet disclosed. Terafab is a joint initiative by SpaceX, Tesla, and xAI aimed at providing chip support for artificial intelligence and robotics projects, with total investment potentially reaching up to $119 billion.
