According to state broadcaster CCTV, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and U.S. President Donald Trump held a phone call on June 1 to discuss Iran and the situation in Lebanon. On May 31, Netanyahu ordered an expansion of military operations in Lebanon and sought American support for strikes on Beirut and other locations.
