According to Beating, Keyu Tian, first author of a NeurIPS 2024 best paper, has launched a startup focused on world models, raising tens of millions of dollars with a valuation of approximately $200 million. The project is incubated and funded by Five Sources Capital partner Mengxing Meng.
Tian, a former ByteDance intern, registered multiple AI companies in Beijing this year. ByteDance sued him in 2024 over alleged code tampering and interference with model training, seeking 8.02 million yuan in damages. The case has been accepted by the court but no public judgment has been issued.
